DENISE SEARS AND BISHOP TOM KIIZA
VISIT CHATHAM SCHOOLS
Chatham, New York
On March 9, 2019, Denise and Bishop Tom presented to the High School, Middle School and 4th and 5th grade in the Elementary School of the Chatham Central School District. The program raised awareness of the developing world and educated students about what life is like for their peers living in Kisebere. The program focused on the need for clean water in the village to prevent serious diseases caused by unsafe water. Currently, children collect water from stagnant water pools to provide water for their families. The students and administration are working to raise funds to install a rain barrel at the clinic to produce an uncontaminated water source for their peers in Kisebere.

LKCF Founder & President Speaks to United Nations Association Chapter
LKCF Founder & President Barry Sears recently spoke at the Global Gathering event hosted by the United Nations Association Kentucky Division's Louisville Chapter. The October 2, 2025, event featured speakers from Germany, The Philippines, and Eritrea who are all now citizens of the US. They all shared stories of their home countries and the adjustment to their relocation to the United States. Barry was also invited to speak and share about his trip to Africa with his wife Denise in 2018, and more specifically about his visit to Uganda. It was during that visit that he and Denise spent time in Kisebere and soon after that trip, Barry decided to form the LKCF to help children in Kisebere with sponsorships to provide funds for school fees, uniforms, supplies and other needs in the community.

Barry was pleased with the response from those in attendance and also received inquiries about how to become a sponsor from some in attendance.
